.
The imposing 20-by-12 foot gray granite wall stands outside Keyspan Park, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones, in Coney Island. Each of the 116 firefighters' faces are laser engraved on black granite, their names, ranks and firehouses also appears. The design also includes a six-foot bronze sculptured statue of two surviving firefighters holding the helmet of a fallen firefighter.

Sol Moglen was born in Brooklyn and after September 11, 2001, he felt driven to create a unique memorial to honor the courageous firefighters who lost their lives that day. Moglen, founder of the Ebbets Field Wall of Remembrance Foundation, worked tirelessly to achieve this accessible, dignified memorial as an uplifting place where families and visitors could go to remember and reflect in their own personal way.

Sculptor Jamie Lester lives in Morgantown with his wife Michelle, 4-year-old daughter Hannah and 2 year old son Everett. Lester has completed over 600 portraits and installed several full round monuments since starting the business 5 years ago.The 20-foot by 12-foot wall will feature each firefighter's picture, laser engraved in granite. Moglen said. Their name will also be inscribed by ladder and engine company on the center of the wall, he added. The wall is a majestic and dignified tribute which this past year added the names of Brooklyn Police and PAPD officers who also lost their lives on 9/11.
